London beckons as the chosen stage for Gucci’s Cruise 2025 (Resort 2055) collection, an event scheduled for May 13th, but details on the venue are not yet available. Sabato de Sarno will present his inaugural Cruise collection as the Creative director of the luxury brand, having assumed leadership in January of the previous year.
Gucci‘s choice of London for its upcoming showcase is a tribute to the brand’s enduring relationship with the British capital. In 1897, a young Guccio Gucci, working as a porter at the iconic Savoy Hotel, found inspiration in the luxurious luggage of its guests. In 1921, Guccio Gucci established his eponymous brand in Florence, opening the first Gucci store on Via della Vigna Nuova.
Reflecting on this deep connection, the company said, “London pays tribute to Gucci’s deep connection to the British capital, which is inextricably linked to the brand’s heritage, and offers new opportunities to explore the integral role the city has played in shaping the brand’s narrative throughout its storied history as a world-renowned symbol of Italian craftsmanship, visionary creativity and innovative design.”

Last year, the Gucci Cruise 2024 collection was unveiled at Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung Palace. An in-house team designed the collection following the departure of creative director Alessandro Michele in November 2022.
Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, Gucci‘s Cruise collections, under Michele’s direction, were presented in unique locations around the globe. The Cruise 2019 collection was centered in Arles, France, at the Roman necropolis of Alyscamps, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. Previous shows have unfolded in locations steeped in cultural history, such as the Dia Art Foundation in New York, the historic cloisters of Westminster Abbey in London, the Palatina Gallery in the Pitti Palace in Florence, and the ancient Capitoline Museums in Rome, with Gucci’s commitment to the preservation of these historic landmarks.
Looking ahead to the upcoming cruise schedule, Chanel will present its Cruise 2025 collection in the vibrant port city of Marseille on May 2nd. Close behind, Louis Vuitton will unveil its Cruise 2025 showcase on May 23rd, while Dior has scheduled its show for June 3rd at a yet-to-be-announced location. In addition, Max Mara is preparing to unveil its Resort 2025 lineup with a fashion extravaganza in Venice on June 11th.
