Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actress Gillian Anderson has taken on a new role as global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. She will be a part of the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect campaign, which celebrates the beauty and individuality of women over the age of 50.
“Women are extraordinary – unique, complex, brilliant, beautiful inside and out, at every age,” Anderson said in a statement. “Yet the conventional narrative surrounding women and aging rarely, if ever, reflects that.” Her partnership with L’Oréal Paris aligns with her lifelong commitment to challenging societal norms and elevating women’s voices.

The campaign, shot by photographer Cass Bird, seeks to redefine aging by showcasing the strength, grace and confidence of women in their 50s and beyond. Anderson’s involvement is a natural fit given her trailblazing career and advocacy work. From her groundbreaking role as Dana Scully in “The X-Files,” which inspired countless women to pursue careers in science and law enforcement, to her recent performances in “Sex Education” and “The Crown,” Anderson has consistently portrayed powerful, multidimensional female characters.
Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, Global President of L’Oréal Paris, expressed her excitement about Anderson’s appointment. “We are honored to welcome Gillian Anderson to the L’Oréal Paris family. Not only is she a true icon with a decades-long career that spans stage and screen, but she shares our mission at L’Oréal Paris to empower women to celebrate their beauty at every age.”
Born in Chicago, Anderson’s influence extends far beyond acting. A dedicated activist, she has supported organizations such as the Feminist Majority Foundation and Planned Parenthood since 1996. She is also the co-founder of the SAYes mentoring program and an advocate for indigenous rights and environmental protection. In 2022, she launched the “What Do I Know?!” podcast, which explores issues of sexual liberation and human connection, and her latest book, “Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous,” became a Sunday Times bestseller.
Anderson has won two Emmys and Golden Globes, four SAG Awards, and an honorary OBE for her contributions to drama.

Her entrepreneurial spirit is equally impressive. Twenty months ago, Anderson founded G Spot, a functional beverage brand that offers healthy, caffeine-free alternatives to sugary drinks. Made with natural ingredients such as adaptogens and nootropics, the brand reflects her commitment to sustainability and wellness.
The latest partnership strengthens L’Oréal Paris‘ roster of celebrity ambassadors, including Jane Fonda, Céline Dion, Andie MacDowell, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Yseult and Cindy Bruna.
