Italian luxury powerhouse Fendi is celebrating its centennial year with a collection that references Karl Lagerfeld‘s first ready-to-wear designs from Spring/Summer 1978. Rather than follow convention, the original collection was launched with a short film, “Histoire d’Eau,” starring Susy Dyson as a fashionable traveler in Rome. This groundbreaking approach, directed by Jacques de Bascher, is widely regarded as the first cinematic fashion campaign – a revolutionary concept at that time.
The new collection captures the essence of Italian summers with a color palette inspired by Mediterranean landscapes: coral red, seafoam green, sandy terracotta, ocean blue and vibrant lemon. Coral emerges as a central motif throughout, appearing in jewelry, intricate embroidery and signature prints alongside oversized underwater florals and bandana patterns.

Silhouettes range from structured maxi dresses to form-fitting tanks, twisted pencil skirts and voluminous outerwear. The craftsmanship for which Fendi is known shines through details such as devoré lace, lambskin appliqués and meticulous bead embellishments.
For men, the collection includes mid-sleeve shirts, silk shorts and striped knits. Swimwear features the season’s signature coral bandana print, while athletic-inspired pieces include cotton separates with embroidered contours. Fabrics such as denim chambray and FF jacquards add to the outerwear options.

Accessories reinforce the seasonal narrative through natural materials such as raffia, Cuoio Romano leather, denim, and silk bandana prints. The accessories lineup introduces the new Summer Tote alongside refreshed versions of Fendi classics such as the Peekaboo, Baguette and By The Way bags.
Footwear highlights include the debut of the Fendi Fling thong sandal, Sea Garden-embroidered Colibri pumps, raffia mesh platform wedges and Selleria-stitched slides for men.

Photographed by Will Scarborough, the Summer 2025 campaign features models Sandra Murray, Achol Kuir and Huang Yuzhu against backdrops that reflect the collection’s Mediterranean inspiration. Styling by Chaos Fashion, hair by Fabio Petri, make-up by Joey Choy and casting by Piergiorgio Del Moro complete the vision.
The Fendi Summer 2025 collection will be available in boutiques worldwide on May 1st, but select raffia pieces are available now.
