For the upcoming Fall/Winter 2022 of his Emporio Armani line – the collection was titled “The Rhythm of Color” – Giorgio Armani revisited glamour, bringing it back to its roots while infusing it with a unique flair.

“In fashion the word ‘glamour’ has become synonymous with sparkle, seduction and allure”, said the show notes. “This collection takes the idea of glamour back to its roots: personal charm”.
For Armani, men’s glamour was expressed through a palette of grays, punctuated by pops of bright colors, such as red and green. Jackets have strong shoulders, wide lapels and embossed textures. The glamour was also reflected in the clever layering of different materials, in the casualness of collarless shirts, replicating the informal charm of a t-shirt. Bottoms were again much more casual, either in the form of wide-leg pants or in the style of chic Bermuda shorts worn over high sock boots.
The women’s side was glamour, of course, meaning with gray woolen trousers and structured blazers, or in floor-skimming shearling coats, chunky leather boots with buckles and cute Mary Janes.
The opulent aesthetic continued throughout the show: velvet blazers, plush pajama sets, and silk dresses all made numerous appearances, occasionally covered in ‘80s style prints or a mash-up of colors.
