Esteemed fashion designer Dries Van Noten has unveiled a captivating Spring/Summer 2023 capsule collection featuring bleach-dyed denim for both men and women. Combining the brand’s signature artistry with the timeless appeal of denim, this innovative line draws attention to the intricate craftsmanship and unique dyeing techniques employed to create a truly remarkable range of workwear.
Dries Van Noten’s Spring/Summer 2023 capsule collection showcases an array of denim garments such as shirts, jeans, shorts, skirts, and outerwear, all of which are reimagined with the brand’s distinctive touch. The designer has breathed new life into these classic pieces by employing an age-old bleach dipping technique, which results in a striking ombre effect. This dramatic interplay of bold indigo, cerulean blue, and bleached white creates a visually arresting aesthetic, synonymous with the brand’s artistic sensibilities.
Although Dries Van Noten first explored bleach dipping in the Spring/Summer 2011 womenswear collection, the technique’s origins trace back to a broader artistic context. Inspired by the works of renowned Belgian painter Jef Verheyen, the 2011 collection sought to examine how Verheyen manipulated light through his organic gradations of tones. This season’s collection is a contemporary reinterpretation of that initial exploration, further cementing the connection between fashion and art.
Launched on April 19th, the Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2023 collection is now available in stores and on the brand’s website.
