With Milan Fashion Week witnessing significant brand transformations, seasoned designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stand out. Their near four decades of experience solidify their brand identity and execution, evident in their designs evolving into sought-after vintage pieces.
Recent years have seen Dolce & Gabbana refine their signature style, even sending out garments at a show with original release year and season labels. Always comfortable with repetition, they’ve recently elevated it to a virtue. Press notes stated, “It’s by perfecting essential pieces that we have created our personal and recognizable style.”

For Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2024, the tuxedo reigned supreme, deemed the “ultimate symbol of pure style.” The designers explained, “The simpler a piece, a classic like the tuxedo, the more perfect it is, eternal, free from the constraints of time.” The show opened with a Spencer jacket featuring pick-stitched satin revers, worn over a lacy camisole, briefs, and a wispy skirt tied with a voluminous ribbon bow. Exploration continued with various hem lengths in both single- and double-breasted styles, accompanied by adjustments to lapel width and notch height. The collection balanced boxy, oversized options with cinched-waist styles featuring padded hips for an hourglass silhouette.
Beyond the tuxedos, the show featured boudoir-inspired peignoirs, sometimes adorned with satin lapels or paired with hand-pleated cummerbunds. Lacy cocktail dresses and stretchy crystal-embellished numbers added variety, while bold statement coats in shaggy faux fur, leopard print, or feathers offered a touch of drama.
