David Koma took to the streets – literally and sartorially – staging his show outside of his studio on the streets of the Theatre Courtyard Gallery – a location that just so happened to be where William Shakespeare put on his first play.
On the clothing side, the designer expanded his proposals and injected his collection with bright, bold shades such as cobalt blue and lilac, as well as an iridescent print inspired by the sidewalks of London, departing significantly from his favorite color black.
There were also nautical influences in David Koma’s collection, including shell prints and starfish embroidery, inspired by the work of American marine biologist Sylvia Earle and her documentary “Mission Blue“.
