Fashion brand COS presented its Spring/Summer 2025 collection against the historic backdrop of Athens, marking the brand’s return to the runway. The Dionyssomarble Cave, famous for the marble that formed the Parthenon and the Erechtheion, provided an evocative backdrop for the presentation. The choice of location created an immediate dialog between the raw, historic architecture and the refined minimalism of the garments.
Inside the marble enclosure, a striking contrast emerged as models gracefully descended a steel staircase to showcase the 35 looks that defined the collection. This movement created a powerful interplay between the structured environment and the flowing nature of the garments, suggesting both strength and softness.
At the heart of the COS collection is a dedication to craftsmanship, evident in the precise tailoring and signature details. For women, creativity was expressed in soft draping and thoughtful design. Eveningwear took on a relaxed, deconstructed feel. In a nod to Renaissance artistry, cascades of fabric introduced fluidity, while sheer, lightweight materials revealed glimpses of form with grace. Inspired by these elements, key pieces were draped, sculpted and wrapped to create a fluid, feminine silhouette. Pointed suede mules, classic ballet flats and minimalist sock boots served as elegant finishing touches.

Menswear offered a study in minimalism, functionality and practical details. Classic pieces were given a fresh perspective with sleeveless interpretations that breathed new life into familiar forms. Silk ensembles conveyed understated elegance, while Bermuda shorts, a summer essential, struck a balance between sophistication and ease. Luxurious, lightweight leather jackets were a modern addition to the warm-weather wardrobe, styled over sophisticated ribbed pieces. Smooth leather sandals and timeless loafer mules were updated for contemporary appeal to complete the looks.
A distinctive marble print made its debut at COS this season. Inspired by Renaissance paintings, the pattern was created by pressing flower petals against a lens, capturing a soft, blurred image with delicate intricacies. The color story revolved around off-whites, deep browns and warm earth tones. A spectrum of pale blues was punctuated by a bold navy, while a soft terracotta added vibrancy to the women’s selection.
Quality and durability remained paramount in this collection. Adjustable features ensured perfect draping, and a classic white shirt was made from Materra, an innovative and eco-conscious hydroponic cotton. Grown indoors with a controlled supply of water and nutrients, this cotton requires neither arable land nor conventional irrigation.
