Set on an imaginary, dreamlike pier beautifully inspired by New York’s piers, somewhere between Far Rockaway or Coney Island, Stuart Vevers’ latest New York inspiration for Coach is a mix of “urban and beach“.
In structured, oversized jackets in both leather and distressed fabric, models walked the runway, each with their own Coach accessory, a clutch or satchel. And, when the air gets cooler by the beach, there’s a series of chunky knits with playful, colorful intarsias – worn, however, over black or silver leather shorts – to cover up. All in a bold but understated natural color palette.
And, to close his show, Stuart Vevers had a big surprise for his fans: rap superstar Lil Nas X walked out in a patchwork leather vest, worn with light purple fisherman sandals, a way of announcing the star as the new Coach ambassador.
