Channing Tatum, the American actor known for his charm and good looks, is now the face of Versace Eros fragrances. The new campaign, which launches on August 6th, features Tatum in a short film that embodies the essence of modern masculinity.
Tatum’s friendship with Donatella Versace, the brand’s Chief Creative Officer, goes back many years. He has worn Versace on several red carpets, but this will be his first campaign for the brand. “When I started modeling in the 2000s, Versace was the brand I always wanted to work with but never did, so this campaign feels extra special and personal to me,” said Tatum.
The Versace name means a lot to many around the world, and Tatum feels privileged to be a part of that legacy. Donatella Versace, who worked closely with Tatum on the shoot, praised him for his amazing looks and the heart he put into the campaign. “He shows strength and power and is also one of the kindest and most charming men I have met. He defines modern masculinity. The perfect Versace man. There is no one better to embody Eros,” she said.
The Eros fragrance, named after the Greek god of love and son of Aphrodite, was first launched in 2012. The brand’s founder, Gianni Versace, had a deep love for Greek history, which inspired the creation of the fragrance. Developed by Versace’s fragrance licensee Euroitalia, Eros has become one of the brand’s signature fragrances, instantly recognizable by its geometric bottle featuring the head of Medusa and the Greca motif.
The new campaign introduces a new Eau de Parfum pour homme flanker, which joins the existing Eros and Eros Flame fragrances in the collection. With Tatum as the face of Versace Eros, the brand aims to capture the essence of modern masculinity and love as represented by the Greek god Eros.
As Tatum takes on this new role, his relationship with the house of Versace is expected to grow stronger. He has already shown his support for the brand by attending the Versace Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show in Los Angeles, the Versace Icons dinner and the Versace x Net-a-porter pre-Oscar party earlier this year. Most recently, he wore Versace while promoting his latest film, ”Fly Me to the Moon.”
