Canali recently showcased its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution. The presentation, held in the elegant courtyard of Palazzo Bovara, celebrated Canali’s 90th anniversary while introducing a fresh approach to menswear that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.
Stefano Canali, the third-generation leader of the family business, emphasized the collection’s focus on quality materials, expert construction, and subtle trendsetting elements. This latest offering represents the fourth iteration of Canali’s new direction, which began with their Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection revolves around the concept of the jacket, reimagining this classic piece in various forms, from traditional styles to the safari-inspired Sahariana. Canali’s approach to luxury is understated yet impactful, bridging the gap between formal and leisure wear through innovative design techniques.
One of the standout features of the collection is the use of unlined, double-faced garments with invisible seams, showcasing Canali’s commitment to superior craftsmanship. The brand’s signature “Nuvola” leather construction, meaning “cloud” in Italian, exemplifies their dedication to combining comfort with style.
Knitwear plays a prominent role in the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, with a diverse range of textures and techniques on display. From punto stoffa to honeycomb stitches and intricate intarsia designs combining knit and chenille, the collection offers a tactile experience that speaks to Canali’s expertise in fabric manipulation.
Stefano Canali emphasized the collection’s wearability, stating, “It is a collection conceived for a real person. What we present is what will arrive in stores.” This commitment to practicality and authenticity is further reflected in the brand’s recently renovated Milan store, which currently features a special capsule collection commemorating Canali’s 90th anniversary.
The capsule collection, available for the next six months alongside the Spring/Summer 2025 line, pays homage to Canali’s roots while looking towards the future. Drawing inspiration from the company’s early days as a raincoat manufacturer, the capsule features a retro-futuristic design made entirely from the brand’s iconic waterproof fabric, once symbolized by a swan motif.
