As the first global ambassador for French jeweler Fred, BTS‘ Jin – whose full name is Kim Seok-jin – brings his radiant energy to the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned jeweler.
“His radiant energy, artistic qualities, values and high standards constantly push him to excel, strongly resonating with those of our maison and our founder Fred Samuel, with whom he shares an unwavering optimism and joie de vivre,” said Valérie Samuel, Fred’s Vice President and Artistic director, and granddaughter of founder Fred Samuel.
For his part, the 31-year-old South Korean singer and songwriter said he was “deeply honored and grateful” to join the Fred family in this new capacity. “Please look forward to the future endeavors we will bring through the partnership,” he added, hinting at exciting collaborations to come.
The appointment marks Jin’s first solo luxury deal, although he previously partnered with Korean food brand Ottogi on the Jin Ramen noodle franchise. As part of superstar K-pop group BTS, he also served as a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton menswear in 2021 with other members under the late artistic director Virgil Abloh.
Jin’s role with Fred comes as the eldest member of BTS recently completed his mandatory military service in South Korea. He is the first of the septet to be discharged, with the others, including J-Hope, Jimin, Jung Kook, RM, Suga and V, expected to complete their duties by June 2025 ahead of the group’s highly anticipated reunion.
The jeweler previously appointed Ive’s Wonyoung Jang as its ambassador for South Korea and partnered with actress Emma Roberts for its Pretty Woman collection.
