“I really wanted to mix more masculine and feminine codes, and have a more fluid balance in the collection”, Azzaro’s new artistic director Olivier Theyskens explained.
“The allure is a little bit oversize, very relaxed and fluid”, the Franco-Belgian designer added, adding some sartorial looks constructed with technical and flowing fabrics are echoed in the men’s wear.
Iridescent satin and carefully placed sequin were the details of the season, building upon last year’s theme of glamour and using of shimmer to create some fully metallic looks.
“I love the possibility of playing with things I was more shy with in the past: paillettes, crystals, sequins”, Theyskens said. “That’s a typical Azzaro thing, and I am discovering how beautiful it can be”.
Androgyny and nods to the ’70s were another key aspects of the collection.
