The adidas Agravic Speed Ultra 2 arrives with meaningful upgrades for runners who push beyond the beaten path. More cushioning, deeper traction, and a redesigned upper turn this sequel into a sharper, more durable tool for long-distance and technical terrain. Built for the demands of modern trail racing, it promises a quicker, smoother ride from the first climb to the final descent.

Softer foam and a smoother ride
The midsole now uses softer Lightstrike Pro foam. This material works with the shoe’s exaggerated rocker shape and embedded energy rods. The result is a smoother ride that returns more energy with each footstrike. Runners get enhanced cushioning that holds up across ultra distances without feeling mushy or unresponsive.
The updated foam sits inside a redesigned upper. adidas redesigned the fit system to provide a snug and secure feel. Heel comfort improves while stability increases throughout the gait cycle. The upper locks the foot in place without creating pressure points that cause hot spots during hours of running.

Deeper lugs for confident grip
The Continental rubber outsole has longer lugs. Depths increase to 3 mm and 4 mm depending on placement. This added length allows the outsole to bite into loose dirt, mud, and technical terrain more effectively than the original. Runners gain confidence on varied surfaces without sacrificing the shoe’s race-ready feel.
Tom Louage, adidas TERREX’s global senior product director of footwear, explains the philosophy: “We know that trail running means different things to different people. For some, it may mean running fast over long distances, while for others, it could mean speed on everyday trail runs. With our new Agravic range, we took our existing models, including the Agravic Speed Ultra, which dominates races, and pushed the boundaries further to create products that match the needs of trail runners looking to go faster.“

A full Agravic lineup for every trail runner
Three additional models will join the Ultra 2 in February. The Agravic TT is designed for technical trail racing and has a broader base for stability, as well as a dual-layer midsole that combines Lightstrike Pro with Lightstrike+. A rock plate protects against sharp obstacles, and multi-directional lugs grip unpredictable surfaces.
The Agravic Speed 2 is ideal for short-distance events where weight matters most. adidas stripped this shoe down to the essentials to create its lightest trail racer yet. Its lower-profile Lightstrike Pro midsole with a Lightstrike rim provides an agile, close-to-ground feel.

The Agravic 4 is ideal for daily training. Softer Lightstrike+ foam provides cushioning for long runs. A protective mesh layer shields your feet from debris while maintaining comfort. The upper is softer than previous versions while remaining durable in high-wear areas.
The Agravic Speed Ultra 2 will be available on December 2nd, 2025 on the adidas website, the adidas app, and at select retailers. The rest of the range will be available on February 1st, 2026. Each model caters to a specific type of runner within the trail community.
