Modeling icon and actress Devon Aoki takes center stage in the Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2023 campaign, showcasing a captivating and enigmatic presence. Dutch visual artist and photographer Carlijn Jacobs captures the iconic model in Los Angeles, donning standout pieces from the collection. The Spring/Summer 2023 show, held last September, marked the 10th anniversary of the Swedish fashion house in Paris and featured a twisted interpretation of love and romance.
With Devon Aoki in the lead, the collection is transformed, as her unique vision challenges and redefines classic occasionwear. Aoki’s favorite ensemble features a see-through column dress adorned with colorful flower petals, paired with a pink leather coat, pearlescent silk lining, and spiked bow shoes – a delicate yet dangerous combination.
Soft pink silk sheets serve as the ideal backdrop for Aoki’s striking looks, such as a transparent tulle gown with a deconstructed light blue bow. Draped in organza ribbons that trace her body, Aoki symbolizes unity. Unexpected elements, like oversized seashell earrings and pin-straight blonde hair, further elevate the campaign.
The collection also showcases layers of red and white gingham clashing with shiny patent leather and metallic spike studs, accompanied by a matching flower corsage bra reminiscent of past years. A metallic purple shade on Aoki’s eyes adds a nostalgic touch.
