In the first black-and-white image, she wears a striking Versace look. The other covers feature her in outfits by Loewe and Chloé. For the cover story, stylist Sarah Gore Reeves dressed the star in a wardrobe that includes Fendi, Manokhi, Anine Bing, Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga. Every look features jewelry from Cartier. This style is quite different from the quirky wardrobe of her character, Emily Cooper.
The hairstyling is by Christian Wood, the make-up is by Marie Bruce, the manicure is by Irmani and the production is by Carmen Cavestany.
Inside the magazine, the 36-year-old opens up about her private life. She and her husband, Charlie McDowell, welcomed their daughter, Tove Jane, via surrogate earlier this year. Motherhood has shifted her mindset entirely. Nearly 11 months later, she admits she is “still learning how to manage everything.”
The most significant change involves her struggle with perfectionism. She shared a candid thought with the publication: “Having a baby changes your priorities and perspective on many things. When you return to work or other activities, the idea of being perfect becomes less appealing because you can no longer focus solely on yourself.”
She explained that this shift calmed her nerves because she let go of the idea of an ideal version of herself. Now, she simply wants to be present. “If I’m at home, I want to be fully present, but I also want to be present at work,” she noted. She makes sure to pick projects she is passionate about because they take her away from home.
While she received many congratulations, the actress also faced criticism on social media for using a surrogate. Despite negative comments labeling her choice as an “unethical trend,” Lily Collins expressed endless gratitude for the woman who helped them start their family.
