G-SHOCK deepens its environmental commitment with three new models developed in collaboration with the Charles Darwin Foundation, each celebrating an iconic species from the Galápagos Islands. Crafted with bio-based materials and rich wildlife-inspired visuals, this collection blends technical innovation and sustainable design while paying tribute to one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems.

Three models celebrating Galápagos wildlife icons
The GW-B5600CD-9 references the Galápagos giant tortoise (Chelonoidis niger), which typically inhabits arid, rocky terrain. The tortoise silhouette, complete with its distinctive domed shell, appears on the dial and band loop and reappears when the backlight is activated. The GW-B5600CD-1A2 features the hammerhead shark, with the predator’s T-shaped head appearing as a silhouette against marine-themed dial graphics. A die-cut hammerhead motif decorates the band loop, and the shark’s outline glows when the LED light is activated.
The third model, the GW-B5600CD-1A3, features Darwin’s finches, the birds that contributed to his theory of evolution. The dial shows a finch perched within Scalesia forest foliage, one of its preferred habitats. This design is also featured on the printed dial, die-cut band loop, and LED backlight display.

Sustainable materials and conservation features
The Charles Darwin Foundation logo is engraved on the case back, and the phrase “Apoyo la Conservación de Galápagos” (Spanish for “I support Galápagos conservation“) is printed on the band. The packaging is plastic-free, and the case and band are made of bio-based resin sourced from renewable organic materials such as castor seeds and corn. Using this material reduces CO2 emissions compared to petroleum-based alternatives.

Advanced solar performance and smart connectivity
The GW-B5600CD series runs on Tough Solar technology, which converts light into power, eliminating the need for battery replacements. Bluetooth connectivity syncs time data with your smartphone, and Multi-Band 6 radio reception automatically adjusts to atomic clock signals for precise timekeeping. The Super Illuminator LED provides high-brightness backlighting for readability in low light.
These watches maintain G-SHOCK‘s core 20-bar water resistance and shock-resistant construction. A portion of the proceeds will support the Charles Darwin Foundation’s ongoing conservation work in the Galápagos Islands.
