Michael Kors has breathed new life into Madison Avenue with the opening of his newest Michael Kors Collection boutique at 667 Madison Avenue in New York City. This location marks the East Coast debut of the designer’s refreshed store concept and replaces the previous, larger boutique at 790 Madison Avenue. The renowned designer brings a new energy to the luxury shopping district, presenting an innovative retail space that reflects the sophistication of his collections.
The 2,800-square-foot (260 m²) location exudes refined luxury through thoughtfully curated design elements. Soaring 14-foot (4.3 m) ceilings create an airy atmosphere, while carefully selected materials – walnut shelving, blackened steel fixtures and marble accents – provide a sophisticated backdrop for the Michael Kors Collection.
“New York City is my home, and I’m very excited to bring our new vision to a new location on Madison Avenue. The store’s interior has a welcoming feel, a sense of luxury and refinement that offers you a chance to step away from the speed of city life and take some time to discover something new,” said Michael Kors.
The boutique features striking artistic elements, including a custom modernist mobile by Brooklyn artist Max Simon. An oversized Noguchi lamp illuminates the shoe salon, casting warm light on the carefully curated collection of shoes. The combination of raw concrete, antique brass, and oxidized maple creates a rich textural depth throughout the space.
Visitors discover an environment that balances luxury retail with residential comfort. The boutique’s facade features tall rectangular windows that flood the space with natural light, while inside, dedicated areas for handbags, accessories, and ready-to-wear collections allow guests to browse at their leisure. The boutique also features a sophisticated shoe salon and seating area to enhance the personalized shopping experience.
