This season, creative director Nicola Brognano is prodding the girly Blumarine to enter grown-up territory while having Helmut Newton and his advertising campaigns for Blumarine shot in 1995, with a young Eva Herzigova clad in a skintight black satin number, slit high to reveal her fabulous legs, in mind for inspiration.

More seductive, audacious and extremely aware of her body, the Blumarine woman left the teenage-y ways of previous seasons behind in favor of a fiercer attitude.
Thus, there were nods to Blumarine’s feminine, romantic legacy this season in rosette accents, fluttery tops, ruffles, ruching, boasting ruffles, sequins, and beading heart-shaped nipple pasties and lots of bright pinks and juicy reds. There were also a smattering of dramatic, all-black looks, minidresses and thigh-highs, party dresses, as well as that other hot-girl wardrobe staple of the moment: catsuits.
