Valentino‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, presented during Paris Fashion Week, marked a triumphant return for Alessandro Michele, Valentino’s new Creative director. After a two-year hiatus, Michele’s maximalist vision breathed new life into the fashion scene, leaving audiences ecstatic and eager for more. The show was held at the Dojo de Paris, an unconventional location that added an element of surprise and excitement.
Michele transformed the basement of the arena into a hidden treasure trove, adorned with antique furniture covered in dust and a mirrored floor. The atmosphere was electric as celebrities such as Elton John, Harry Styles and Florence Welch took their seats. Michele sent out 85 looks, each a testament to his unique blend of eccentricity and elegance.

The collection was inspired by Valentino’s rich archives, blending the brand’s signature details with Michele’s own flair. Bows, tassels, polka dots and ruffles abounded, creating a tapestry of textures and patterns. Designs ranged from ’80s power suits to feminine A-line dresses, all accessorized with statement pieces such as silk mesh turbans and deep-brimmed straw hats.
Michele’s ability to modernize démodé was evident in every piece. The collection was a celebration of the brand’s heritage, with nods to Valentino Garavani’s iconic designs, including a tiered evening gown in the house’s signature red and couture-quality embroidery in floral and chinoiserie motifs.
Michele’s heartfelt approach was evident in every detail, from the mesmerizing soundtrack to the presence of Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino Garavani’s lifelong friend, who FaceTimed with the designer during the finale.
