Illustrated by Japanese artist Yu Nagaba, the UT collaborative collection offers a fresh look at Western art in the clean, soft style that characterizes Nagaba’s work.
“I think the Louvre Museum is an iconic place for anyone interested in art or history. There is no other place where you can immerse yourself so deeply in art. I am accustomed to drawing classical art and have carefully considered the characteristics of the inspirational models in this collection so that they are easily recognizable. I hope my illustrations will inspire people around the world to discover the Louvre’s artworks”, said Yu Nagaba.
The artist drew his inspiration from the 35,000 works of art on display in the museum, including Greek sculptures, European paintings and Egyptian works.
A saucer and a Hasami cup will also be part of the collection.
