Uniqlo, a global fashion brand, continues to make waves in philanthropy with its “Peace for All” initiative. With over $2.4 million USD raised to date, Uniqlo has significantly impacted organizations like UNHCR and Save the Children. In their latest charity tee capsule, Uniqlo collaborates with renowned artists and personalities, showcasing their creativity to further the campaign’s message.
The “Peace for All” initiative demonstrates Uniqlo‘s dedication to fostering global harmony through creative collaborations with notable figures such as Basquiat, Akamai, Roger Federer, Magnum Photos/Cristina de Middel and Dick Bruna. Each of these artists has contributed unique designs that reflect the essence of the campaign, promoting peace and unity across the globe.
The new collection features a striking black and white photo tee by Christopher Makos, capturing Basquiat holding a globe against a dark gray background. As a symbol of worldwide unity, this piece epitomizes the campaign’s goal of spreading peace through artistic expression.
Cloud computing company Akamai Technologies lends its expertise to the initiative with a code-centric design. Displayed on a black tee, the Go language code in blue features specific white letters spelling “peace for all“, seamlessly combining technology and the human desire for peace.
Tennis legend Roger Federer brings his passion for the sport to the collection with a “LOVE” graphic t-shirt. Featuring a tennis ball replacing the “O” in “LOVE” on a white tee, Federer’s design playfully merges the world of sports and the universal message of love.
Magnum Photos’ Cristina de Middel adds her unique perspective to the campaign with a photograph taken in Salvador de Bahia. This image showcases a hand holding a bird against a cloudy backdrop, accompanied by the “peace for all” script in white. De Middel’s contribution highlights the connection between humans, nature, and the shared pursuit of peace.
Dick Bruna’s beloved fictional character, Miffy the rabbit, joins the “Peace for All” movement on a blue t-shirt. Depicting Miffy traversing across a globe, Bruna’s design serves as a reminder of the collective effort needed to achieve global peace.
The Spring/Summer 2023 “Peace for All” collection became available on April 20th, both online and in Uniqlo stores, with each t-shirt retailing for $25 USD.
