Tommy Hilfiger celebrated his return to New York Fashion Week in a heavy downpour with a Fall/Winter 2022 “See Now, Buy Now” collection at the Skyline Drive-In Theater in Brooklyn.
Dubbed ‘’Tommy Factory’’, the collection was inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic New York studio and celebration of pop culture and creative expression.
On the runway, with Beyoncé’s hits “Break My Soul” and “Summer Renaissance” from her new album ‘’Renaissance’’, Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Her” echoing in the background, Tommy Hilfiger’s models, including Lila Moss among others, Winnie Harlow, Alton Mason, Amelia Gray, Duckie Thot, Hari Nef, Julia Fox, Paloma Elsesser, Parker van Noord, Precious Lee and even former Interview Magazine editor Bob Colacello, parade in dramatically oversized and voluminous pieces.
Also seen on the runway is the new TH monogram, created in partnership with illustrator and graphic designer Fergus Purcell, and a collection in the collection designed with British designer Richard Quinn.
“My heart immediately went to New York’s iconic creative culture when I thought about where to launch our return to fashion week”, Hilfiger said in the press release. “This is where fashion, art, music and entertainment was all coming together when I first started out in the industry. And today, it is still this approach that inspires me to engage with the cutting-edge communities building new creative experiences”. Before adding, “This season is all about the collision of my favorite archival inspirations with new live event concepts and virtual worlds. It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW”.
