With his Pre-Fall 2022 collection, the New York-based designer Thom Browne has once again solidified his place as the reigning king of quirk and fashion’s current master of tailoring.

This women’s collection carries over motifs from Browne’s men’s Pre-Fall 2022: the celadon green and air force blue handpainted floral wallpaper from his new Upper East Side townhouse, as well as lobsters and a few of Browne’s signature dachshund icons.
He has also carried on flipping the traditional suit on its head in a variety of ways. The shoulderpads and the canvas are cut out of the brand’s cropped blazer so that it’s as soft and snuggly as a cardigan, constructed from an elegant black-and-white tweed or a grey wool three-piece suit paid homage to what is now a staple-style for the house, as it saw a traditional blazer paired with a long vest and a knee-length pleated skirt.
His accessories also keep getting better and better, among them oversize shearling bucket hats, beanies emblazoned with the signature house stripes, and furry rounded cloche hats topped by a single pompom, as well as new bag shapes, including a pillow-clutch with gold chain handle.
