Stella McCartney unveils the Spring/Summer 2023 campaign featuring rising actress and animal enthusiast Madelyn Cline at The Gentle Barn.
The Spring/Spring 2023 advertisement showcases vegan accessories alongside ‘’Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’’ star Madelyn Cline, set within the six-acre sanctuary’s farmyards, fields, and inhabitants. Inspired by the activist slogan “Change the History” by Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, the collection incorporates his signature illustrations and punk social commentary.
Stella McCartney expressed her passion for dismantling the food and fashion industries’ reliance on animal products, stating, “We are what we eat, we are what we wear“. She emphasized the interconnected impacts of our choices and the importance of taking action to preserve the Earth for future generations, from ceasing meat consumption to ending the unnecessary killing of animals for fashion.
Located in Santa Clarita, California, The Gentle Barn is an entirely vegan animal sanctuary with a holistic approach to animal care. It is home to over 170 animals, including cows, horses, pigs, sheep, chickens, llamas, emus, cats, dogs and birds.
Debuted at the Centre Pompidou during Paris Fashion Week, the leather, feather, fur, and exotic skin-free Spring/Summer 2023 collection is crafted using 91% responsible materials. The ready-to-wear line fuses nostalgia and iconic styles, spotlighting bold silhouettes that embody different periods of Stella McCartney‘s brand identity. The collection revisits utilitarian and seductive staples from the 90s and 2000s, enhancing their desirability, wearability, and sustainability.
