South Korean fashion house Songzio is set to launch a collaboration with DC Comics, bringing iconic superheroes and villains to the world of high-end menswear. The international debut, scheduled for 10th October, promises to combine Songzio’s distinctive aesthetic with beloved characters such as Batman, Superman and the Joker. This partnership marks another milestone in Songzio’s history of creative collaborations, following successful ventures with Disney, Warner Brothers and Tim Burton.
The brand’s ability to reinterpret familiar characters through its unique lens has consistently pushed the boundaries of fashion design.
Songzio’s collaborative collections are best known for the original artwork drawn by the designer himself. This collection is no exception, with ten original artworks featuring Batman and the Joker, as well as other Justice League characters. Songzio’s renowned embroidery studio has meticulously applied these designs to each garment, ensuring a level of craftsmanship that sets this collaboration apart.
Fashion-conscious men can expect a wide range of ready-to-wear classics, including MA-1 bombers, varsity jackets, sweatshirts and bold knits. The collection also features technical details inspired by Batman’s wings and the Joker’s unpredictable nature, with transformative string elements and raw cuts.
Songzio’s signature embroidery techniques are complemented by striking patchwork designs that represent the vast DC universe. The colour palette draws heavily on the iconic hues associated with Batman, Superman and the Joker: blue, red and green respectively.
In addition, the brand is preparing to open its first international flagship store in the Marais district of Paris in November 2024, with a womenswear flagship on the same street to follow in 2025.
