The Rabanne Resort 2026 (Cruise 2026) collection proves that retro references can feel fresh when handled skillfully and with restraint. Julien Dossena has crafted a lineup that speaks directly to women who want glamour without the fuss and sophistication without the stuffiness.
Dossena describes his approach simply: “Where glamour and grunge converge.” This philosophy is evident in every piece, from the shimmering, liquid-metal chainmail dresses to the crocodile-embossed leather skirts paired with mint-colored knits. Drawing inspiration from Françoise Hardy, vintage Ossie Clark, and even Kurt Cobain, the designer transforms these references into something entirely contemporary.
The Rabanne Resort 2026 collection splits into two distinct moods. The Celebration pieces, launching for the November holidays, feature sequined tuxedos, tortoiseshell-toned paillette midi dresses, and dramatic maxi silhouettes. These party-ready looks are effortlessly glamorous rather than overdone.
What makes this collection particularly smart is how Dossena handles daywear. For example, a brown, crocodile-embossed A-line skirt is paired with a mint sweater with a chunky chain detail at the neckline. The caramel leather pieces, which Dossena likens to French pastries, offer sophistication without pretension.
The faux fur coats from last season now appear in patchwork designs with chevron patterns. These dramatic yet wearable pieces are exactly what today’s fashion-conscious women want in their closets.

Chainmail, Rabanne‘s signature material, appears throughout the collection but never overwhelms. The blue version that looks like the ocean drapes beautifully at the hips, while striped versions can be worn over casual tees. Sequined pieces feature burgundy tones on stretch netting, creating movement and comfort.
The accessories deserve attention, too. The Ring bag returns in new colors, including a buttery yellow that can be worn during the day or at night. New shapes include a reversible bucket bag and sharp flap designs, all of which feature the house’s characteristic attention to metallic details.
Dossena understands that modern luxury means versatility. His pieces work for multiple occasions without requiring a complete wardrobe overhaul. The collection offers structured pieces, such as Spencer jackets in soft yellow, as well as relaxed pieces, such as zippered denim and crocodile-embossed leather blousons.
The designer avoids making everything overly complicated. Even the most elaborate beadwork is featured on simple silhouettes, and the most casual pieces are elevated through superior materials and construction.
