Puma has teamed up with French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi to introduce the LGN Mostro Mule, a fresh take on the iconic Puma Mostro shoe. Debuting at Nouchi’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in June, the collaboration transforms the classic silhouette into a sleek, backless slip-on mule.

The LGN Mostro mule is made from molded EVA foam, highlighting the distinctive anatomical sole and signature spikes that define the original Mostro design. It is available in Nouchi’s signature colors: deep black and bone white, offering a minimalist yet bold aesthetic.
Nouchi shared insights into his design approach, stating, “I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker.” His vision fuses functionality with artistic expression, redefining the boundaries of contemporary footwear.
Originally launched over 25 years ago, the Puma Mostro was inspired by vintage track and surf shoes. Its name, derived from the Italian word for “monster,” reflects its unconventional and distinctive look that has made it a street style staple.

This collaboration follows a series of innovative reinterpretations of the Mostro. Most notably, Puma partnered with rap superstar A$AP Rocky to create the 3D-printed Mostro known as the “Grim“. Utilizing Carbon Digital Light Synthesis technology, this design featured an alien-like slip-on that earned the duo the Collaboration of the Year award at the 2024 FNAAs.
London-based luxury streetwear brand Aries also reimagined the Mostro, incorporating mesh, neoprene and suede into the upper with an elastic closure and adjustable toggle at the back. These collaborations underscore the versatility and enduring appeal of the Mostro in contemporary fashion.

The Puma x LGN Mostro mule, retailing at $158 USD, will be available January 23rd at the Louis-Gabriel Nouchi website and January 25th at select retailers.
