It was one of the biggest highlights of Milan Fashion Week. With an assist from Hollywood director Nicolas Winding Refn, revealed in 2011 with his violent movie ‘’Drive’’, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented a minimalist and functional collection, at the crossroads of genres, between games of transparency, lace and authentic leather.
In an ode to duality, the collection played on polarities, between intimate and formal, brutality and fragility. Key silhouettes of the Prada’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection were orchestrated around shirt-like jumpsuits, resolutely audacious and tight-fitting, shiny black second-skin leather, between dressed and undressed, as well as crumpled dresses with paper-based fabrics.
Layering and transparency used on outerwear were also used to expose parts of the naked body and to evoke a voyeuristic feeling, hence the name of the collection: “Domestic Voyeurism“.
