Italian fashion house Max Mara has selected the magnificent Reggia di Caserta (Royal Palace of Caserta), an 18th century royal palace near Naples, for its Resort 2026 (Cruise 2026) collection presentation scheduled for June 17th. Known for its baroque and neoclassical architecture, the palace, the main residence of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies when they were kings of Naples, spans five levels with 1,200 rooms and a theater inspired by Naples’ San Carlo. Its extensive park, reminiscent of Versailles, adds to its allure.
Max Mara’s decision to present its Resort 2026 collection at the Reggia di Caserta on June 17th coincides with the opening day of Pitti Uomo, the international men’s fashion fair in Florence.
This will be Max Mara’s second venture into southern Italy for its Resort collections, following a show on the island of Ischia at the Mezzatorre Hotel in 2021. The fashion house has a history of choosing different global cities for its Resort shows, including New York, London, Shanghai, Berlin, Lisbon and its hometown of Reggio Emilia. Last year, Venice’s Palazzo Ducale served as the backdrop for Resort 2025, while Stockholm’s City Hall was the setting for the Resort 2024 collection.
Italy will showcase its artistic and architectural treasures with a series of Resort 2026 collection shows. Max Mara will present in Caserta, while Chanel takes to Lake Como on April 29th, Gucci heads to Florence on May 15th, and Dior shows in Rome on May 27th.
