Marine Serre has long treated existing textiles as raw material rather than waste, but Marine Serre Spring 2027 pushes that approach into a more polished wardrobe. Named “The Deep Shine,” the collection places reconstructed fabrics beside tailored outerwear, transparent evening pieces and sharply defined silhouettes.

The opening looks draw on 1980s proportions without becoming costume. Shoulders are enlarged, while the lower half remains narrow and elongated. Trench materials and leather establish the structure, supported by dark browns, beige and straw-like tweeds. White gradually enters the palette, while washed denim adds a more ordinary counterpoint.
That balance between special-occasion dressing and familiar clothing runs through the collection. Vintage silk scarves, old t-shirts, lace, crochet and sequins are reused rather than concealed. Their previous lives remain visible in uneven surfaces, frayed edges and contrasting sections. Denim, jersey and leather keep these techniques connected to clothes that can function beyond formal settings.

Serre also develops a stronger evening silhouette. Belts sit unusually low on the hips, with fuller shapes beginning beneath the dropped waist. Defined shoulders create contrast above. White shirts are altered with small cape-like additions, while lace, cut-outs and layered transparent dresses place greater emphasis on the body without relying on rigid construction.

The Moon, one of the house’s most recognisable symbols, is less direct this season. A new Baby Moon flock is applied to sheer dresses, while jacquard versions appear in acid-yellow knitwear. On pink sequins, the motif is visible through changes in transparency. Multiple Moon belts also reshape the waist without turning the logo into the main visual feature.
Colour becomes more pronounced in the later looks. Sky blue, stronger blue, green, pink, yellow, white and red appear across silk, lace and sequins. Upcycled scarves are especially important. One tube dress is lengthened with two silk panels, while scarf-based headwear further extends the material beyond its traditional use.

The final pieces bring together transparent layers, exposed sections and contrasting surfaces. Despite the detailed construction, the collection avoids making couture references feel overly formal. Its strongest idea is practical regeneration: old materials are not simply recycled but given a new structural purpose.
Actress and Friend of the House Stef Roitman naturally embodies “The Deep Shine.” Free-spirited, irreverent and modern, she brings the collection’s sensuality, confidence and play of volume, transparency and texture to life. Her presence gives the collection movement, personality and instinctive confidence.
For readers familiar with Marine Serre, the approach is consistent with the house’s established interests. What changes for Spring 2027 is the degree of refinement. Regeneration remains central, but it is now placed inside a wardrobe that feels more controlled, more formal in places, and increasingly focused on how texture, proportion and colour can alter familiar clothes.
