Iconic French fashion house Louis Vuitton has announced that its Cruise 2026 (Resort 2026) show will take place in France. While the exact city and venue remain under wraps, the event is scheduled for May 22nd, 2025.
Nicolas Ghesquière, who has been at the helm of Louis Vuitton’s women’s collections since 2013, is known for his discerning eye when it comes to selecting awe-inspiring backdrops for the brand’s resort presentations. From the whimsical Park Güell in Barcelona, designed by legendary modernist architect Antoni Gaudí, to the enchanting Isola Bella, a centuries-old island gem on Italy’s Lake Maggiore, Ghesquière’s choices have never failed to captivate audiences.
Louis Vuitton’s past cruise shows have taken place at some of the world’s most iconic architectural sites, including John Lautner’s futuristic Bob Hope estate in Palm Springs, Oscar Niemeyer’s striking Museum of Contemporary Art Niterói in Brazil, and Eero Saarinen’s mid-century masterpiece, the TWA Flight Center at New York’s JFK Airport.
In addition to Louis Vuitton, Italy looks set to be a popular destination for the Resort 2026 season, with several other major fashion brands planning shows there. Chanel is hosting a show on Lake Como on April 29th, Gucci will have a show in Florence on May 15th, and Dior is planning a show in Rome on May 27th. Max Mara is even organizing a two-day Resort 2026 event in Naples on June 16th and 17th, which will include a runway show. Pucci has also chosen Portofino for its upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 runway show on April 4th.
