Givenchy has recently welcomed celebrated Chinese actress Li Bingbing as its new brand ambassador for the Chinese market.
Known for her captivating performances in Hollywood films such as “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” and the thrilling “The Meg” opposite Jason Statham, Li Bingbing comes to Givenchy with a legacy of excellence and charm. At the age of 51, her global recognition and commitment to environmental advocacy add a profound layer of significance to this collaboration. She has captivated audiences not only with her acting, but also with her commitment to environmental causes as an ambassador for WWF Earth Hour and the United Nations Environment Programme.
Givenchy’s decision to appoint Li Bingbing as its ambassador reflects the brand’s vision to deepen its relationship with the Chinese market. Li joins the Givenchy family as its third China spokesperson and is the first to be chosen after the brand’s creative director Matthew Williams parted ways with the company last December. Li has more than 42 million fans on Weibo, the popular Chinese social media platform. Before being named brand ambassador for China, Li also made a cameo appearance in Givenchy’s Year of the Dragon Lunar New Year campaign earlier this year.

Li’s involvement with Givenchy is not her first foray into high fashion. She previously worked with Gucci, first as China ambassador and then as global ambassador during the Frida Giannini era.
Li’s enthusiasm for her new role is palpable. “Givenchy has a long history and always been very charming in my impression. I am delighted to be joining the Givenchy family and look forward to more collaborations with the brand in the future,” she said.
