Hunter Schafer, the rising star and model, appears on the cover of Elle UK’s April 2023 issue, photographed by the talented Paola Kudacki. On the cover, Schafer shines in a stunning Mugler design, showcasing the brand’s cutting-edge fashion and style.
The cover story, named ‘’Leaning In’’, features Schafer in an array of designs from Mugler, as well as looks from Simone Rocha and Prada, styled by Carolina Orrico. With her sleek locks expertly handled by hairstylist Lacy Redway and neutral make-up by Carolina Dali, Schafer is a true vision of beauty.
In an interview with Lynette Nylander, inside a bustling Manhattan boutique hotel restaurant, the talented actress, known for her role as Jules Vaughn in HBO’s hit show ‘’Euphoria’’, speaks about her journey, the impact of fame, and her aspirations beyond the screen.
Hunter Schafer, now 24, has come a long way from her days as an 18-year-old model and emerging activist for trans rights. As she recounts her experience with Euphoria’s explosive popularity, she shares, “From the airing of the first episode to my first million followers on Instagram, it was, like, a month“. She credits the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, and her close friend and co-star Zendaya for helping her navigate the whirlwind of fame.
Discussing her acting pursuits outside Euphoria, Schafer emphasizes her intention to diversify her roles, avoiding being typecast. Upcoming projects include a horror film called ”Cuckoo”, a cameo in Yorgos Lanthimos’ film ”AND”, and a role in the next ‘’Hunger Games’’ installment, ‘’The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’’.
While acting has taken center stage in her life, Schafer’s passions extend to the worlds of art and fashion. Having been an early contributor to Tavi Gevinson’s Noughties blogging site Rookie and offered a place to study fashion design at Central Saint Martins, she now enjoys a multi-year deal with Prada and serves as the spokesperson for Mugler’s perfume Mugler Angel Elixir. Schafer hints at a possible future collaboration in fashion, saying, “I am always looking for opportunities and want to segue into it and make it right“.
As her life accelerates, Schafer remains grounded and focused on nurturing her relationships and creative pursuits. She plans to establish an art studio and possibly host an art show, saying, “I miss the bigger projects that I used to work on, rather than the doodles and watercolors I do now“.
