After a recent stint on Vogue Korea for the November 2021 issue, ‘’Squid Game’’ star HoYeon Jung fronts the February 2022 issue of Vogue US and the March 2022 issue of Vogue Japan. For the first time in the 130-year history of American Vogue, Jung is the first East Asian and first Korean to grace the cover as a solo feature for the coveted fashion magazine. In 2019, Priyanka Chopra, who is of Indian descent, became the first Asian to receive her own Vogue US cover.

For both covers, captured by photographer Harley Weir, the model turned actress wears two looks from Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
The cover story, styled by Alex Harrington, shows HoYeon Jung in ensembles perfect for a new season from Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Acne Studios, Givenchy, Junya Watanabe, Vera Wang, Loewe and Prada.
Inside the magazine, Jung talks about her rise and fall and rise again: Her ascension through the ranks of the fashion world, the isolation she felt when the modeling gigs became few and far between, and the global recognition brought on by the success of “Squid Game”, in which she played Kan Sae-byeok, also known as Player 067 in her breakout role. Within weeks of the show’s release, the star racked up millions of Instagram followers and soon became the most-followed Korean actress on the social platform.
