This year, for its September 2023 “The Icons Issue“, Harper’s Bazaar US paints a rich tapestry of talent, diversity, and modern-day iconic figures. Presenting not one, but three dazzling solo covers, the magazine showcases top model Kendall Jenner, the dynamic Doja Cat, and talented actor Paul Mescal, brought to life through the masterful lens of Mario Sorrenti.
The aesthetic range is palpable. Jenner mesmerizes in a chic Miu Miu knit, briefs and tights. Doja Cat, a blend of sultry and elegance, shines in a Dolce & Gabbana jacket, dress and briefs. Mescal completes the trio, exuding charm in a classic Gucci trench coat and t-shirt. All three are adorned with dazzling jewelries from Cartier.
However, the magic doesn’t end with the cover. Delving into the issue, readers will find a stellar lineup of influential figures. From the visionary writer/director Nia DaCosta to the captivating actress Golshifteh Farahani. The list continues with choreographic maestros like Parris Goebel and James Whiteside and extends to political activists Justin Jones and Justin J. Pearson. Adding layers of depth are model and activist Zaya Wade, the enthralling Greta Lee, and inspiring talents such as writer Leila Mottley, basketball player Angel Reese, and singer/actress Teyana Taylor.
Curated by stylists Beat Bolliger and Edward Bowleg III, the edition brims with eclectic selections from powerhouse brands such as Balenciaga, Prada, Willy Chavarria, Rick Owens, 2(x)ist, Alexander McQueen, Chuks Collins, Winnie New York, D’iyanu, Fear of God, Proenza Schouler, Bottega Veneta and Alaïa.
