The new product line picks up where Gucci x The North Face Chapter 1 collection left off.
The limited edition collection for men and women includes ready-to-wear, accessories, luggage and footwear, including many sturdy and functional pieces such as hiking boots, backpacks with practical pockets and warm, insulated jackets that are closely linked to The North Face’s outdoor DNA.
As in the previous collection, the pieces in this second capsule prominently display The North Face’s three curved lines, as well as the famous GG monogram.
When the first chapter of the collaboration was inspired by the 70s, this new collection draws its inspiration from the 90s retro style. Thus, it offers a reinterpretation of the iconic clothing of the 90s from The North Face, such as the Nuptse down jacket which is decorated with colorful prints, some of these prints come from the Gucci archives.
The collection is completed by two-tone jersey and fleece tracksuit sets, logo-laden bucket hats and baseball caps, small belt bags, unisex hiking boots, among others, all equipped with the latest technologies developed by The North Face, with a strong emphasis on functionality.
Environmentally-friendly materials are also appearing everywhere, such as regenerated, highly insulating, “responsible” certified ECONYL fabric, that replaces conventional nylon.
Additionally, all Gucci x The North Face purchases will be packaged, to minimize waste, by utilizing cardboard and paper from “sustainably-managed forest sources”.
Campaign imagery was captured in Iceland by French twins Jalan and Jibril Durimel, with art direction from Christopher Simmonds.
You can shop select pieces from the Gucci x The North Face collab on Gucci.com, select Gucci stores, and The North Face flagships in New York, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai.
For the full experience, however, themed pop-ups have been scheduled for mid-January at Gucci stores on 5th Avenue, Aspen, Chicago, and Toronto.
