Rome-born, Paris-based fashion designer Giambattista Valli is the winner of the 2025 Industry Impact Award, which was presented at the closing gala of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week on Saturday in Barcelona. Organizers said the award honors a vision that has changed industry standards, encouraged new ideas and established new levels of creativity, leadership and significant influence.
A jury of 21 professionals – journalists, stylists, wedding planners and industry insiders – selected twelve winners at the third edition of the Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards. French model Estelle Girard accepted the award on Valli’s behalf, and the designer thanked her in a pre-recorded video. Other nominees included American designer Justin Alexander and Spain’s Marco & Maria.
Previously, Valli participated as a guest designer for the 2024 edition. He once described wedding gowns as “detached from fashion,” suggesting that they stand apart from fleeting trends and belong to a special, dreamlike time. His designs have adorned high-profile women such as Amal Clooney, Charlotte Casiraghi and Jessica Biel.
Valli‘s latest bridal collection, “The Love Collection No. 4,” was unveiled at the fair. The collection features twelve wedding gowns named after the months of the year. Each piece features beaded lace, macramé, silk cloqué and tulle embroidered with organza flowers. Swooping, low-cut backs, delicate capelets and off-the-shoulder necklines add striking touches.
