Fendi, the acclaimed Italian luxury fashion house, brings its iconic design language to the basketball court with the unveiling of a unique, limited-edition activewear line: the “Fendi Active: Basketball Capsule“.
Launching perfectly timed with the conclusion of the NBA season, the collection acknowledges the enduring appeal of this all-year sport, infusing the athletic attire with the signature refinement of Fendi.
The ‘’Fendi Active: Basketball Capsule’’ collection is set to make a grand debut on June 1st at none other than New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue, amidst a specially installed Fendi-branded mini basketball court. This inventive pop-up experience, slated to run from June 1st to 14th, will offer customers a firsthand encounter with Fendi’s innovative approach to sports apparel.
Diving into the capsule, one finds quintessential Fendi elements seamlessly integrated into classic sportswear designs. The collection features Fendi Roma and FF logos tastefully integrated in varsity lettering on basketball tees, tanks, and shorts. The color palette predominantly revolves around shades of black and gray, subtly outlined by Fendi Roma ribbed edging.
Beyond the core clothing items, the collection also includes a gray tracksuit and varsity bomber jacket. Designed in lightweight technical fabric, the pieces sport contrasting black piping, evoking images of the distinct lines on a basketball court. Fendi’s FF logo imprints on the sleeves and sides of these pieces further establish the brand’s presence.
No athletic collection is complete without complementing footwear and accessories. The ‘’Fendi Active: Basketball Capsule’’ includes high-top Fendi Match sneakers, offered in black and cream or an exclusive all-white version, which features a radiant, crystal-embellished design. Additionally, the collection is enriched with practical pieces such as sponge socks, wristbands, a headband, and a black baseball cap that, paired with a mini basketball, serves as a sports-inspired keychain.
In a demonstration of collaborative synergy, Fendi has partnered with Spalding, a global leader in sport balls manufacturing, to curate a unique black basketball. This collectible item showcases the Fendi Roma logo in a new varsity twist and a branded shoulder strap for added flair. To elevate the exclusivity of the collection, Fendi has also designed a see-through basketball hoop ornamented with Fendi Roma lettering and black metal O’Lock chains. This luxurious hoop commands an asking price of $10,000.
While the ‘’Fendi Active: Basketball Capsule’’ will initially be available at Saks Fifth Avenue, it will also be found in Fendi’s Las Vegas store, online, and in select international locations. The price range for the collection varies from $120 for socks to $1,790 for sneakers. The basketball hoop, an exception, is not available outside of the Saks Fifth Avenue collection.
