Drawing inspiration from the timeless elegance of British summer, Burberry Swimwear’s debut campaign, led by the creative vision of Daniel Lee, showcases the label’s signature checks and Equestrian Knight Design in stunning monochromatic images captured by renowned photographer Tyrone Lebon.
The Burberry Swimwear campaign boasts an impressive lineup of models, including Alex Schlab, Angelina Kendall, Candace Demers, Ishmael Auguiste, Kaedon Baxter, Matheus Mesquita, Sophie Alice, Tess Carter and Tianna St. Louis. Set on a picturesque beach, the images showcase the models enjoying a quintessential seaside experience, with some frolicking in the water, sunbathing and relaxing on a boat.
At the heart of the campaign is the iconic Equestrian Knight Design, which graces the swimwear in white and electric blue, reminiscent of its usage by former chief creative officer Christopher Bailey. The design, dating back to 1901, was the winning entry in a public competition and features a knight in Burberry livery riding a horse. Emblazoned with the Latin word “prorsum“, meaning “forward“, the logo embodies the brand’s commitment to progress and innovation.
Burberry Swimwear’s collection comprises an array of beach-ready essentials, including checked bikinis, briefs, shorts, robes, towels, bucket hats, beach bags and life jackets. A standout piece in the collection is a sleek black bikini with a subtle checked trim outline. Accompanying the eye-catching visuals is a captivating short film, scored by Vegyn, the celebrated artist behind Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” and “Endless“.
This swimwear campaign is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Daniel Lee and Tyrone Lebon, who previously worked together on the creative images for Burberry ahead Lee’s runway debut. That collaboration highlighted homegrown British talents like Vanessa Redgrave, Shygirl, Skepta and English footballer Raheem Sterling, set against iconic London landmarks like Trafalgar Square and Albert Bridge.
