Chemena Kamali’s debut Chloé collection for Fall/Winter 2024, titled “Intuition,” is a heartfelt homage to the brand’s rich history, infused with her personal connection to the house. The show pulsated with a youthful energy, blending romanticism, practicality, and playfulness – the hallmarks of Chloé.
Drawing inspiration from various eras of Chloé, Kamali masterfully weaved together the brand’s DNA with her own creative vision. The collection echoed the carefree spirit of the 1970s under Karl Lagerfeld, featuring flowing silhouettes, lace blouses, and whimsical touches. Kamali’s personal connection to Lagerfeld, a fellow German in Paris, shines through in these pieces.
Nostalgic references continued with nods to Phoebe Philo‘s reign, evident in the platform clogs and lingerie-inspired dresses. Hints of Stella McCartney‘s playful touch also emerged in the form of fruit-shaped jewelry. However, Kamali didn’t simply copy the past; she reinterpreted these elements with a contemporary twist, ensuring the collection felt fresh and relevant.

Kamali’s deep understanding of Chloé’s core values – femininity, freedom, and intuition – is evident throughout the collection. The clothes are designed to empower women, allowing them to express themselves authentically and effortlessly. This philosophy aligns perfectly with the brand’s legacy, established by Gaby Aghion in the 1950s as a relaxed alternative to Parisian haute couture.
