Anna Sui held her Spring/Summer 2022 collection amid the tropical decor of New York restaurant Indochine where Sui had designed a purple St-Germain cocktail complete with palm tree straws to set the vacation mood.

“I dream of escaping to a little-known holiday spot, where the weather is forever sunny, the waves are consistently tasty, and the people are always fun and cool”, Sui wrote in her show notes. “In my personal Shangri-La, I wake up every day, whenever I want, walk among the chirping birds, soaring palm trees, and delicious-smelling tropical flowers, listen to my favorite music, and order beverages that come with colorful little umbrellas. The mood is forever upbeat and anything goes – it’s Another Day in Paradise!”.
Inspired by her travels and favorite tiki haunt, her Spring/Summer 2022 collection was full of looks chock-full of texture, print on print, and joyful vibrancy from head to toe. There were also rainbow tweed mini suits, floral board shorts, girlish prom dresses and her Spring/Summer 2004 retro surf shirts reinvigorated for today in spandex.
“The mood is forever upbeat and anything goes”, Sui also said in her show notes.
