Altuzarra staged his Spring/Summer 2022 show at 160 Varick, on a floor that was completely unfinished. “We wanted to take an abandoned corporate office and reclaim it as a creative space”, he said.
Altuzarra said he looked at a treasured book, Charles Fréger’s Wilder Mann, and its photographs of pagan rituals and celebrations of spring, for inspiration. So, his collection delivered thoughtful tie-dye, dynamic crochets and knits, and an abundance of flowing tops, dresses, and skirts. Featuring a kaleidoscope of what the contemporary woman searches for, Altuzarra’s collection reconstructed feminine power dressing.
