adidas and Pharrell Williams are still collaborating. They just released the Superstar 92, a new version of one of adidas’ most iconic shoes. The Superstar 92 has a bold new look and is made with high quality materials. This new design honors the individuality and cultural history of the shoe, while ensuring that a classic continues to change with the times.
The adidas Superstar 92 transforms the classic profile with exaggerated ’90s-inspired proportions. Borrowing from the functionality of snowboard boots, the sneaker features substantial ankle padding and a chunky outsole that gives the wearer a distinctive stance while maintaining the unmistakable Superstar DNA. With VIRGINIA (his hometown) emblazoned on the tongue, Pharrell once again nods to his beginnings.

What makes this release particularly significant is Williams’ decision to ground the campaign in his Virginia Beach origins. The hip-hop duo Clipse, made up of Pusha T and No Malice, fronts the ads shot by photographer Cam Hicks. All three share Virginia roots with Williams, creating an authentic hometown connection.
The campaign uses Virginia Beach locations as backdrops, showcasing local landmarks and community members rather than glossy studio sets.
Available in classic black and white colorways, the Superstar 92 (dubbed the “Double Wide” by some sneakerheads) retails for $200 USD at select adidas retailers and adidas.com.
