Longchamp, a Parisian leather goods company, is preparing to enter the fragrance market through a significant licensing agreement with Interparfums SA. This partnership marks a new chapter for the celebrated brand, known for its iconic handbags and accessories. The exclusive, worldwide agreement is effective immediately and will run through December 31, 2036, signaling a long-term commitment from both companies. Fragrance enthusiasts can look forward to the first release from this collaboration in 2027.

Interparfums will oversee the creation, development, production, and distribution of all new Longchamp perfume lines under the terms of the deal. These fragrances will be available globally through Longchamp’s retail locations and a select network of department stores, perfumeries, and duty-free shops.

This move is a logical progression for Longchamp, a brand that has steadily expanded its lifestyle offerings. Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp’s chairman and CEO, expressed his positive outlook on the venture. “We will work together with enthusiasm to create a new expression of our brand values: authenticity, energy, and creative curiosity,” he stated. He added, “We are very optimistic about the future of this exciting opportunity.”

Longchamp’s journey began in Paris in 1948 when it was founded by the current CEO’s grandfather, Jean Cassegrain. Initially, the company produced leather-wrapped pipes before expanding its expertise into small leather goods and luggage. In the 1970s, the brand shifted its focus toward women’s accessories, introducing its first handbag in 1971. This evolution eventually led to the creation of the world-renowned Le Pliage bag.
