In lieu of a live runway, they filmed a video (called “Tomorrow’s Mermaids”) where the set was engulfed by walls of water and models plunged underneath. A color palette of reef shades like kelp green and turquoise brought the point home.
After a couple of transitional seasons, Botter and Herrebrugh appear to have found their groove back at Nina Ricci. The vibrant colors and confident constructions gave the collection – their most personal collection since they joined the house in 2018 – an upbeat, yet polished appeal.
