Holding the very last time slot on the official Men’s Paris Fashion Week calendar, the Matthew Williams’ collection for his label 1017 Alyx 9SM took us straight to the black volcanic beaches of Stromboli, one of the Aeolian Islands located north of Sicily.

Following Alyx’s tradition of melding cutting edge technical innovation with artisanal techniques, the collection emphasized comfort and ease which, this season, were expressed through monochrome looks, far removed from the past collections rich in psychedelic prints.
His silhouettes for men have voluminous shapes, with the integration of jersey and toweling materials. On the program: oversized parkas and motorcycle jackets, ultra wide and long sweatshirts, long leather coats, beach towels tied around the waist similar to long skirts and sleeveless vests while keeping pants narrow and sleek. And rounding out the collection, 1017 Alyx 9SM builds on its Mono footwear range, introducing the Mono Slide and Mono Hiking Sneaker that feature the EVA Mono sole.
