Red is certainly the signature color of the Valentino house, but it had to take a step back this season to make way for an intense magenta, called “Pink PP”, a new Pantone color created by Pierpaolo Piccioli himself.

“Pink is a color I really like, and it’s also a color that can have different sides”, Piccioli explained, noting how it can be sweet, sexy, powerful and rebellious.
The hue, created specifically in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute, pervaded the entire first half of the collection (more than 40 looks) – for the subsequent 32 looks, black dominated the runway – eliminating any distractions and concentrating the viewers’ eyes on details.
As for the silhouettes, they remained highly structured and sharp, with soft volumes, bringing out Piccioli’s couture craftsmanship and beautiful details: crystal embroidery, three-dimensional floral embellishments, floral macramé…
