Rimowa, the renowned luxury luggage manufacturer, has taken a bold step into the world of handbags with the launch of its first ever handbag, The Original Bag. This groundbreaking accessory seamlessly blends the brand’s iconic aluminum design with modern functionality to meet the evolving needs of urban travelers.

The Original Bag is a miniature version of Rimowa’s signature aluminum suitcase. Crafted from grooved aluminum, this unisex accessory offers a timeless aesthetic that appeals to fashion-forward individuals seeking both style and practicality.

CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert emphasizes the significance of this launch: “The release of the Rimowa Original Bag marks a new chapter in our history. We envision this bag to become an indispensable companion across a spectrum of journeys and personalities. Bringing this vision to life was an ambitious technical challenge, and we’re thrilled with the result: a versatile bag that epitomises the disruptive innovation and meticulous craftsmanship Rimowa is known for.”

The design of The Original Bag addresses the mobility habits of today’s urban dwellers who navigate cities using multiple modes of transportation. Its versatility allows users to carry it by the top handle or as a cross-body bag, adapting to different situations with ease.

Available in sleek silver or classic black, The Original Bag retails for €1,750 euros and is available in Rimowa boutiques and online.

To showcase its versatility, Rimowa has enlisted a diverse group of creatives for its campaign shot by filmmaker Jordan Hemingway and photographers Louise & Maria Thornfeldt, including top model Liu Wen, rapper Central Cee, fashion editor and Off-White Creative director Ib Kamara and photographer Larissa Hofmann. In the video, set to a popular rock song from the early 2000s, they seamlessly blend into the rhythm of urban life over the course of 24 hours, with the Rimowa Original Bag in hand.
