Nike is taking fans back to Hawkins, 1987, with a Nike Dunk Low x Stranger Things that looks like it’s been trapped in the Upside Down for decades
This isn’t your average retro reissue. The cracked leather upper mimics aging, as if the shoe had been sitting untouched in a basement since 1987, the year in which the final season of Stranger Things is set. Stained laces and a yellowed midsole add to the worn-in vibe, and the navy Swoosh has the same weathered texture.

Take a closer look, and you’ll spot subtle nods to the Upside Down. The heel logo is flipped upside down, cleverly referencing the show’s alternate dimension. Inside, the insole features creeping vines and the Stranger Things logo, tying the design back to the series without going overboard.
The pair comes with a small pinboard packed with references that only true Hawkins insiders will recognize. This thoughtful extra elevates the unboxing experience beyond footwear.

The “Phantom,” “College Gray,” and “Midnight Navy” colorway is priced at $155 and hits first. A second version in “Black/Speed Red/Varsity Red/Anthracite” is expected later, though Nike hasn’t shared details yet.
This marks the second time Nike and Stranger Things have teamed up. Their first collaboration in 2019 included Blazers, Cortezes, and Tailwinds. However, this Dunk Low stands out because it tells a story through texture and tone rather than loud graphics.

With the final season rolling out in three parts this November and December, the timing couldn’t be better. Whether you’re interested in the design, the nostalgia, or the cultural significance, the Nike Dunk Low x Stranger Things feels like a fitting tribute to a show that shaped a generation.
